Our Team

Geoffry E. Hallstead, DMD

Dr. Geoffry Hallstead began practicing general dentistry 36 years ago, though his history with the dental field goes back to his childhood. The son of a dentist, Dr. Hallstead grew up witnessing the difference his father made in his patients’ lives each and every day. Seeing dentistry as an opportunity to continue helping people live better lives, Dr. Hallstead chose to follow in his father’s footsteps.

Dr. Hallstead began his formal education at St. John Fisher College in Rochester, NY. He completed his Doctorate of Dental Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dentistry. Returning to Canandaigua in 1988, he assumed the helm of his father’s dental practice, which was established in 1957.

To continue his education, Dr. Hallstead has completed many hours of continuing education at the Kois Center, an organization committed to the advancement of dentistry through science. His advanced knowledge and training allows his patients to receive better treatment and a more enjoyable dental experience.

A native of Canandaigua, Dr. Hallstead has been pleased to grow his practice and raise his family in such a wonderful community. He and his wife, Jane, have two children, Ricky and Serica. Dr. Hallstead enjoys spending his free time with his family and has many interests, including driving a horse and carriage and gardening. He is actively involved with Blue Star Mothers (a veteran outreach program), Lions Club, and Cheshire Community Action Team.

Office Manager

I started with Dr. Hallstead over 28 years ago. I believe everyone deserves to have a beautiful smile and have the best dental care. I feel privileged to be part of Dr. Hallstead’s team and look forward to making our patients feel comfortable and well-taken care of each day. During my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our children and grandchildren.

Dental Hygienist

I feel privileged to be able to work with a group of people who are truly dedicated to helping others achieve healthy and beautiful smiles. I graduated from Monroe Community College in 1997 with a degree in Dental Hygiene. I am very passionate about the profession of dentistry and providing comprehensive, individualized care to every patient. I am also committed to professional growth and development, and to sharing my knowledge with patients in order to help them achieve optimal oral health. It’s such a joy to get to know each individual and build trusting relationships. In m free time, I enjoy spending time with my two daughters and exploring the beautiful Finger Lakes.

Dental Hygienist

Growing up in a dental home it was an easy decision to become a dental hygienist. I attended Erie Community College and my first job was with my Dad. I joined Dr Geoff’s team in December 2020. It is a privilege to be in a practice where I can help a person understand and achieve a healthy mouth and smile. A healthy mouth is so important for a person’s overall health and it is a joy to help patients reach that goal. I love coming to work each day and being part of making that happen. When not at work I enjoy sewing and my family-though my kids would say its the grandkids not them!

Dental Assistant

Since starting in the fall of 2014, getting to know all of the patients at the office has been such a joy; they are all so unique and I love catching up and joking around with them at each appointment. Seeing them leave with a smile on their face just makes my day! It is also refreshing to work with a doctor who the patients can relate and open up to. They can truly see his passion for dentistry because it shows in their smiles! I live in Farmington, NY and enjoy watching football, especially the Buffalo Bills with my friends! I like to keep active by working out but I’m also perfectly content staying in and reading.

Dental Assistant

From the time I was a young girl I have been passionate about dentistry and oral health. I feel that it is important for the patient to have an understanding of procedures and to ensure that they are educated about their own oral health. I went to school in Pennsylvania where I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science at Allegheny College and continued my education at Great Lakes School of Technology for my Dental Assisting Certification. I began working for Dr. Hallstead in April of 2021, Dr. Hallstead is exceptional at educating his patients and taking the time to get to know them and help them. I love exploring the Finger Lakes and I often spend my free time outside.

Bookkeeper / Personal Assistant

I have had the pleasure of working for Dr. Hallstead for over 17 years. I joined the team as a part time bookkeeper in 2006. In 2012 I was given the opportunity to expand my role to include administrative support to Colleen and personal assistant to Dr. Hallstead. In 2017 my duties expanded again to providing support  to our entire team, which helped me to better understand everyone’s roles as well as offered an opportunity to get to know our patients. When not in the office I enjoy spending time with my husband and daughters and traveling as much as possible.
